Contemporary Collage - a 4 week course

If you have visions of eighties style decoupage when you hear the term COLLAGE, think again! Collage is making a huge resurgence in contemporary art. 

Delve deep into this varied technique, and also into your own unique creativity during this 4 week course.

Revel and discover more about your personal style by creating a collage with mixed media elements. You will learn techniques to cut, rip, glue and layer images, how to combine seemingly disparate elements, how to overlay freeform line and colour and most importantly, how to tie it all together!

Your inspiration levels will go through the roof after looking at some contemporary collage artists and we’ll make some funky small scale collages. With pops of colour, these works are bold, fun, clean and fresh.

The beauty of collage is that half your artwork is already in front of you, all you need to do is select images, make some shapes and arrange them until you’re happy. It is probably the least confronting (and some would say most fun) way to make art. 

Suitable for beginners or experienced artists wishing to learn more about collage, mixed media and their personal style.

Depending on your pace, you will have a variety of completed works by the end of this course; One framed piece which will serve as a valuable springboard for future work (no matter what medium) and several small pieces ready for framing.
