Contemporary Collage - a weekly course

If you have visions of eighties style decoupage when you hear the term COLLAGE, think again!

Collage is making a huge resurgence in contemporary art.

Delve deep into this varied technique during this 4 or 5 week course.

We will explore various ways of making collage, from the Henri Matisse style using painted papers, to the pop art style using images from magazines. You will learn techniques to cut, rip, glue and layer images, how to combine seemingly disparate elements, how to overlay freeform line and colour and most importantly, how to tie it all together!

The beauty of collage is that half your artwork is already in front of you, all you need to do is select images, make some shapes and arrange them until you’re happy. It is probably the least confronting (and some would say most fun) way to make art. Your inspiration levels will go through…
