Step Into Abstraction - Register for 2024

Using my simple  “Step into Abstraction” method, come join me and be amazed at what you create! 

Suitable for; 

absolute beginners who have no idea where to start,

traditional artists wishing to explore abstraction or 

more advanced artists looking for a simple formula to expand their creative practice. 

With a combination of technique and intuition, I’ll help guide you to go with the flow, allowing your artwork to evolve from a realistic image to a stylised* or abstract** work. 

There will be plenty of scope for personalised attention so feel free to bring your own artwork, photo or other image to work from, especially if you’ve been itching to try a particular scene or subject matter. Or you can use some of my reference images, along with a range of materials including soft pastels and watercolour pencils. Feel free to bring your own preferred materials (no oil paints please)

You will leave with at least one finished A4 work, possibly more (!) and skills you can use over and over again to take your art to the next level. 

 *STYLISED: or “Semi-abstract:” Not realistic like a photo but you can still see what’s what. Ie, you can tell a figure is depicted, or see elements that look like the ocean 

**ABSTRACT: A pure abstract is a combination of line, colour, form etc. You can't necessarily tell what the image is “supposed to be.”
